Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who we are
This website, bongia.ca, is operated by 7110561 Canada Inc. (“Boutique Bongia”, “we”). We operate the Bongia St-Hubert and Bongia Granby stores.
This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through bongia.ca. Our online store, bongiastore.ca, is a separate website with its own privacy policy.
2. What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through our forms:
Contact form: first and last name, email address, the subject of your message, your message, and whether you want our newsletter.
Careers form: first and last name, email address, phone number, why you want to work with us, and your CV (the file you upload, maximum 10 MB).
Franchising form: first and last name, email address, the subject of your request, your message, whether you want our newsletter, and any files you upload (for example a brochure or business plan; maximum 10 MB per file).
Automatically: when you visit the site, technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed and visit dates may be collected through cookies and similar tools (see section 7).
Please don’t include sensitive information (for example health or banking details) in your messages or files.
3. Why we use it
We use your information only to:
• answer your message or request;
• review your job application and contact you about it;
• evaluate your franchise request and contact you about it;
• send you our newsletter, only if you said yes;
• keep the website secure and understand how it’s used, in order to improve it.
We don’t use your information for any other purpose without your consent, unless the law allows or requires it.
4. Consent
By sending a form, you consent to us using your information for the purposes above. Newsletter consent is separate: you choose “Yes” or “No” in the form, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to our Privacy Officer (section 10). Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer process your request or application.
If you are under 14, a parent or guardian must consent for you before you send us your information.
5. Who can see it and sharing
Only the employees and managers who need your information to handle your request can access it.
We never sell or rent your personal information.
We use service providers that may process your information on our behalf, only for the purposes above:
• our website hosting provider (stores the site and form entries);
• Google (Gmail for our email; Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for site statistics; Google Maps for the store maps) and Google reCAPTCHA, to protect our forms from spam;
• Mailchimp, for the newsletter (only if you subscribe);
• Meta / Instagram, for the Instagram feed shown on the site.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
6. Where it’s stored
Form entries and uploaded files are stored with our website hosting provider. Some of our service providers (such as Google and Mailchimp) may store or process information outside Quebec and outside Canada. Before sharing information outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected, as required by law, and we use providers that apply recognized security measures.
7. Cookies, analytics and embedded content
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies:
• Essential cookies to make the site and forms work (for example the language setting and form security).
• Analytics: Google Analytics (through MonsterInsights) and Google Tag Manager, to measure visits and pages viewed. This information is used in aggregate to improve the site.
• Embedded content: the Instagram feed and Google Maps on our store pages. When these load, Instagram (Meta) and Google may collect information about your visit under their own privacy policies.
Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other non-essential cookies only run after you accept them in our cookie banner. If you refuse, the site still works normally. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner shown on your first visit (also available at the bottom of every page) or in your browser settings.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, then delete or anonymize it:
• Contact messages: 24 months after our last exchange.
• Job applications and CVs: 12 months after receipt. If you’re hired, your information moves to your employee file.
• Franchise requests and files: 24 months after our last exchange, unless a franchise agreement is signed.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Analytics data (Google Analytics): 14 months.
9. Security and incidents
We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards: a secure (HTTPS) connection, restricted access to form entries, and password-protected accounts.
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people affected, as required by law.
10. Your rights and our Privacy Officer
You have the right to:
• access the personal information we hold about you;
• have it corrected if it’s inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
• withdraw your consent;
• ask us to stop disseminating your information or to de-index it, where the law allows;
• be informed about how your information is used.
To exercise these rights or ask a question, contact our person in charge of the protection of personal information:

We may update this policy. The new version will be posted on this page with its updated date. If the changes are significant, we’ll make that clear on the site.
